About Us

Who are we?

We're people just like you. We are college students that are tired of politics as usual in Miami and want to see some change in our community.

We were born and raised in Miami - from traditional Cuban-American republican households - and we don't like the direction in which this community is going. We love South Florida and firmly believe that it's time for better leadership.

Why did we create this site?

To encourage Raul to run.

Like many of you we are tired of an archaic approach to politics in South Florida and of the special interests setting the agenda. Thats why when we heard the rumors that Raul was considering running for Congress, we couldn't help but create this website to encourage him to do so.

Why do we support Raul?

We believe in Raul's leadership. Growing up, we saw how Hialeah went from being a small industrial neighboring city to now being one of the most prosperous municipalities in Florida. This isn't about a change in parties. In fact, we really don't care about that. We know that there are great republicans out there that care about their community - Lincoln Diaz-Balart isn't one of them. What we want is new leadership for a new South Florida.

Who pays for and runs this site?

We do with money from our part-time jobs. We don't outsource our work to some fancy shmanzy tech firm out in California - our computer wiz friend helps us out with that type of work. This is truly a local grassroots effort.¿Hermano/a, qué cantidad de tiempo tienes?

What's in this for us?

Nothing. Nobody is paying us to do this. No hot-shot jobs in Coral Gables waiting for us or anything. The only benefit we derive from this is that we'll be damn happy if Raul decides to run because we are confident not only that he would win, but that he would help us create a better South Florida as our next Congressman.

Why not Lincoln?

We don't have any problem with Lincoln Diaz-Balart on a personal level. This is about the issues. His voting record clearly demonstrates how disconnected he is from the needs of South Floridians and how his time in Washington has jaded his view of reality.

Unlike Lincoln Diaz-Balart, we don't run from South Floridians and send surrogates on our behalf. If you have any questions about the site or want to know how you can help, drop us a line at: admin@raulmartinez.org
